Twig is a Jinja-like template engine used mainly in the PHP ecosystem. Natively supported by Symfony and Drupal since version 8, it allows developers to modularize their HTML code while keeping a clear separation between logic and display. Ports also exist for other languages allowing its use with Node.js via twig.js for example.

After a first experience of Twig when developing sites with Drupal, I adopted it as the default template engine for many of my projects. I actively participated in the modernization of my clients' WordPress stack by recommending the use of Timber whenever possible to ensure a clear separation between data retrieval and its front-end rendering.

When developing administration interfaces with Node.js, I favor its use when a monolith-type solution makes sense for the project.
